njresler 14
So the plastic stem/nipple for the hose to attach to the reservoir for the coolant return is cracking. I have fixed the leak for now but the tank is going to need replaced soon. The dealer is charging about $45 for the part after shipping. Is anyone else running into issues. Retired old Gearhead 201
Something to keep an eye on. The plastic should not be cracking on the flexible plastic tank after 3 yrs. Pretty sure that would be covered under the bumper to bumper...if you are still within time/mileage range.
njresler 14
I've got 49k miles. So it's not covered. I sure feel it should be as its seems like a manufacturer defect. But they want to charge me $45 for part and $80 to install. I can install myself as its only two bolts and three hoses to remove and reattach. But it's ridiculous that it's an issue already. njresler 14
Yeah, mine was winter time so i noticed when the heater was cutting out and then not working. It was till just the reservoir that was Low and luckily still had some in the radiator and engine to circulate. I can't find the part online to order for myself and I was able to temporarily fix it with some self fusing silicone tape.
