hybridtrendz 0
Just got a 2013 Spark LT. I hoped it had some version of navigation. I researched that there is an update called the BringGo app. Our car only has Pandora listed in the apps..... 1.) So I assume I need to goto the dealer to get the BringGo update. Is this free? 2.) BringGo app is .99 download plus a $60 fee. Is it worth it? Does the app still work in 2015? The reviews in the Google Play Store are horrible. But, there is no good place to put a normal gps in this car. 3.) It seems to me that the MyLink system was just a quick "proof of concept" to advertise a high end infotainment system with not much functionality? Just my opinion from what I've read. Any help appreciated
Retired old Gearhead 201
Not sure about smarty phone apps, but I just put maps I may need on a USB stick and display as needed. I can then zoom in and move the maps around by touch..not as nice as gps but works for us old school types that are used to paper maps.

Any help appreciated Yes, the dealer will update your MyLink for free and it will add BringGo and TuneIn (another music player) to the screen, maybe one more, I can't remember. I've never used the BringGo app. It's had bad reviews since the start. I use my phone for GPS, when I go on vacation.
Skids 108
ya theres an update to the programming on the headunit.. I have bringo, and it's not perfect, but no gps/navigation i've ever used is, just takes learning. I rearely use it, but it's nice to have when needed. it's 99cents for a 60 or 90 day trial i forget, so test it out see if you like it first before buying the full version. Cool thing about it it's on your phone not the headunit so you can use it in any spark or sonic (if you get a rental or something) i got the life time one ($70 i think) life time of map updates, loose my phone i can re download it to my new phone etc. pretty cool. in cali its against the law to hold/touch your phone while driving, so having the map on the screen is pretty cool, and bigger than a $100+ gps unit you might by and have stuck on the windshield plus no need to worry about someone breaking a window and stealing it. Compass65 0
I tried the Bringgo app (did the .99 download) and hated it. It seemed to constantly lag behind my actual position by a significant amount and was always late with turn notifications. the interface is awkward and not easily navigable. I will stick with google navigation for now.
Skids 108
how long ago was this? it is a cellphone based app so if you have cell issues (coverage or just phone working right) you'll have issues with the app. I haven't had any problems with lag or anything
Duncan 5
Do like we do and use your phone (an Android with Google Maps in my case) for navigation. We use the cupholder under the dash as a phone caddy and the handy USB outlet to keep it powered up. If you want spoken turn-by-turn directions, simple! Just use the Bluetooth audio link and your phone will direct you as necessary through the car speakers. Want music too (since you can't have Bluetooth and radio at the same time)? Use a streaming app like iHeart Radio or (my favorite) MediaU to stream local radio stations at the same time. Just like in-dash nav systems, the audio will turn down as the next direction is announced. It's seamless! Duncan
Mr.tozzi 66
Well, I use my phone for gps, I have a dash mount with the built in qi charger (Iottie) for my phone and the directions will go trough bluetooth even when youre using pandora for music. You can also get directions trough onstar, use the app on the phone to enter the address ans send to the car. They are giving out 3yrs free now, just press the button and ask for it
