Well, this may or may not be the end of my little buddy. My 2013 with 66,00+ miles was in a fender bender. A trailer hitch went through the grill, radiator, and into the engine. Both driver side bags expelled, the knee and the steering wheel. Aside from that all is well, no injuries. I'll be renting a Spark tomorrow from Enterprise. If mine is considered totaled I've got my eye on a '14 😏

The engine sells for around $4000 plus labor, airbags are about $600 each plus labor. I think you are looking at about $6000 to $8000 in repairs, but it will be interesting to see what you get for a quote. Got any pictures of the damage?

My local Spark Dealer has about 18 ea 2015 Sparks in.

If you buy another Spark, why not get a 2015?

Some 2015's were on hold pending a secondary hoodlatch replacement. May be a bit before they become available.

I wonder how well do our Sparks hold in crash, I have seen some here hit from behind and still walking, I saw a 2013 Honda Accord hit a Spark from behind and the honda was wrecked and the Spark had just a bit torn of the rear bumper and even the taillights where OK, I do have my fears of traveling with my kids in it so I try not too. I need a Suburban for that and the Spark for work.

The Spark has one of the highest safety ratings of any small car. In fact i think its the only mini car to get the top Insurance company rating. I don't think you have anything to worry about safety wise.

There are many used engines available with low miles from totaled cars in the 1,000 to 1,500 US range.

These are rated really well in the UK crash tests. Far above the Fiat 500. Probably one of the best out there.
