hemihauler20 0
So what's the fastest couch on 4 wheels that you've driven or had the opportunity to ride in? Post it here! Did you hit the speed limiter or did the car not have one? Was the speedo needle buried? Or did the fuel cutoff spoil your fun? Enjoy!
malibuguy 14
98 caddy deville. Ran 14.9s and would hit the 112mph limter like a damn wall
hemihauler20 0
Nice. I like those old Deville's. Never understood why they had a goddamned speed limiter in the first place. They still had plenty of power and speed left.
Big-Bob 11
1973 Pontiac Catalina with a 455/TH400. Ran in the mid 13s.
hemihauler20 0
What's the fastest you ever had her up to Bob?
malibuguy 14
H rated tires is why. And how often does a typical grandpa go over 60mph anyways
hemihauler20 0
Ah that makes sense malibuguy. I never really considered that. But I've seen grandpa's go over 60 mph. My dad goes at least 80. And he's doing that in a goddamn Pontiac Sunfire.
hemihauler20 0
Just out of curiosity malibuguy, are you still having thoughts about putting a turbo on the Spark? If I'm able to get my hands on one, at a halfway decent price, I'd be willing to let you work on it as a test mule for whatever you have in mind. I'd really would like to see what would happen if these things were turbocharged from the factory. Although I would like to get a better transmission than that stupid four speed auto or that even stupider CVT. Maybe a 6 speed auto would work better especially with the manual shift mode. psquare75 35
My project / money pit is a 78 Mercury Cougar with a 523" engine...
hemihauler20 0
Nice! Looks like it's in nice shape too psquare. I actually like older cars better then the newer ones. There's a lot less to go wrong because there's no computers to deal with.
NoSprak 17
Biggest boat I have ever driven was a Cadillac Brougham with an oldsmobile 307 engine. Was geared too tall and really underpowered. If you were going 60 and floored it, it would drop 2 gears, I would hear it sucking in a lot of air .... but it didn't go any faster. Nice riding car
hemihauler20 0
Damn haha. I knew somebody that had a Cadillac Brougham but I think her's had a 350 with the 700R-4 transmission. If I'm not mistaken it was an 87. That thing had some balls.

Since everything is up front fabricating a turbo system would not be difficult

hemihauler20 0
Ok I'll let you know malibuguy. I'm having a bit of trouble finding one that's reasonably priced and close by me. I want the 1LT but I can't seem to find one cheap enough. I'll just have to keep looking I guess...
hemihauler20 0
Or maybe a VW might be in my future, hard to say at the moment. I'm getting the sense that these cars aren't all that reliable..

parakalien 0
been 193 mph in a Porsche twin turbo 911. I wasn't driving, but it was fun! We didn't go below 160 for 30-40 minutes. Burned the tank of fuel just about out and covered quite a bit of distance, haha.
hemihauler20 0
Holy hell! Let me guess. The fuel cut off spoiled your fun didn't it?
