Keep it out of the sun, and never wipe it with anything without flushing off the dirt with a hose first. Modern clearcoat paint finishes are very fragile, and very quickly develop swirl marks. And they show up a lot worse on dark colored paint. That's why my new car is going to be white or silver.

Here's the thing most owners of the Aveo and Spark don't know: There is no clearcoat over the paint! This is why some forum members have complained about the paint chips. Unlike most cars, the Aveo and Spark have a glossy white primer that does not adhere to the final color coat as well as the conventional grey primer. I believe this was done to make the final color coat brighter. The Black Granite is an optional ($) color and being metalic, it may have a clear coat applied. My daughter had an blue Aveo when she was going to school and the paint justed started to peel or flake off around the door handles to expose the white primer coat. We had that fixed at a good paint shop and the tech who worked on it said the glossy white primer was a poor design for the final coat to adhere to and was most likely done to enhance the final color.

have the black granite on a sonic and just take care of it like you would any other car keep it clean and waxed.

as far as white blue green magenta gray gold whatever the primer color is shouldnt matter its there to adhere the next coat of paint and that coat should be thick enough to not see the primer color the fact that its white wont enhance anything.. the fact that its glossy is a problem though. these newer models should not have that same problem which was probably a cost saving issue back when, plus theres a 10 year warranty on the finish so I wouldnt worry
