  1. This CVT for the spark has the capacity of 6.2 quarts. BUT if you do drain and fill you will not drain the torque converter and the fill will be about 4.5 quarts. To drain, remove the pan bolt then there will be an over flow tube that you use a 5mm allen wrench to remove from the same hole as the drain bolt. That will drain the pan (4.5 quarts) but not the torque converter. then put the over flow tube back in the drain hole. Do not put the drain bolt on yet! (The internal over flow tube will drain any excess fluid with the drain bolt off) Now add 3 quarts of fluid. Start the engine and go thr
  2. I just dropped off my 2014 Spark for the 15k mile service and was told this recall went live 1-9-2016. I can't find any information online about it. Since I see a lot of people on here have had transmission issues, I thought everyone would like to know. Will update if my vehicle has the belt damage.
  3. Hi Spark Family! I'm the new owner of a 2015 Chevy Spark LT. Honestly, I love nearly all parts of the car but i'm having one concern. When I step on the gas and it accelerates in the 10 mile to 30 mile speed range, the vehicle gets a little shaky. I don't really know how to diagnose the problem but a friend said it could be the transmission not shifting properly. It's more of a back and forth shaking and it sometimes feels like its trying to brake when i'm not braking. Once I get passed 30, it drives like a beauty. The dealership I bought it from has a 30-day, 1,000 mil
  4. I have previously posted about a concern I had about the CVT sometimes not resetting to the lowest ratio at a stopped condition, this made it very sluggish pulling out. I contacted Chevrolet Customer service on the forum with my concern and Jasmine replied. She checked up for me and found there may have been a TSB for my issue. She contacted my dealer and they called me and set an appointment for me to bring it in to be checked. I took it in and they found out it did need the TSB TI1309 to be performed to reprogram the TCM. They completed that this morning and so far it seems to have cured th
  5. Hello everyone, this is my first post :P I bought a Spark 2016 2LT a couple of months ago, and I wanted to check if what happens after a hard braking is normal for a CVT. It happens sometimes, but not always. I've found a similar case to mine on a Nissan Forum. So, when I do a hard braking on my Spark (emergency stop, or because of a sudden stop in traffic), and that I come to a complete stop, if I press the accelerator immediately after, I have almost no power and the car feels sluggish. Then after a couple of seconds (sometimes less, sometimes more) it will acceler
  6. My son just called about his 2014 Spark. He stopped the car and when he went to go again, it would not move. He said the manual transmission feels like it is shifting okay, but when he releases the clutch, nothing happens. It just sits there. Sounds to me like something in the drive train let go but i have never worked on a Spark. Any Ideas on whet this might be or if there is something he can check? Thanks
  7. As topic says are AFA which is in my car compatible with A14 or shall i stick to AFA? The problem i have is that sometimes the 4:th gear seems to be hindered somewhat when shift up and don't slide in as it should. No grinding or other noice when that happens. Happened one time on 3:rd gear also when i downshifted. Had one time issue when i down shifted to 1:st gear and the synchro didn't fixed it so audible sound then. 1:st and 2:nd gear goes in smoothly but 3:rd and up are a tad harder to shift but no grinding noice or other.. So can it be the clutch? Cable? it has been drivin 31000 miles
  8. I have owned (and quite enjoyed) my 2013 Spark (1LT auto) for the last year and a half. Since driving it off the lot, I'd had no major problems whatsoever. Granted, I don't do as much driving as most here - it currently sits at 18179 lifetime miles - but now, that number's not going any higher. On the 10th of this month, I was involved in a three-car collision on a twisty road (around a relatively blind curve). I should mention this is a road I've driven countless times for many years. I know the roads around here very, very well, and of course I was going the speed limit as that's plenty fas
  9. My car has 28500 miles and lately when I am stopping and put the stick in first gear it feels as if the gears are moving and are grinding the stick, so I have to take the stick back to neutral and move it forward once more. Some other times it is really hard to put the stick in first gear, all the other shifts work normal but first gear is giving me a lot of problems, at the beginning I though I wasn't pressing the clutch all the way through, but then I noticed it wasn't the problem. Has anyone else gone through the same situation? I am taking the car to the dealer tomorrow.
