  1. Probably the best outcome I could hope for. Heres a link to my oppositelock posts: http://sonicboost14.kinja.com/lemon-1581472670 http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/my-long-fight-is-over-kinda-long-1587776609 I got 3k "trade assistance" on the Spark and 3k off sticker on the Sonic. Worked out. Worst part is, those lying shits at the dealer told me GM picks up any car that is any form of buyback. Yeah, they washed it and put it on the lot the next day. No service, no inspecting. Worthless.
  2. I did a GM Buyback on the nightmare that was my Spark so I have these mats left over. I bought a Sonic Turbo Hatch and they don't fit. Duh. Asking 80+ shipping. Best offer gets them Email to bjfitzpatrick@hotmail.com Thanks! Brandon
  3. Ok, update 2. The actual update. After 3 calls today, I get a call from the GM rep at 6pm. Of course, the answer was round and about "eat shit, you have a warranty." So I told her to put my request in for a vehicle swap and I will take the car to the shop for one last go. I took tomorrow off work so I can go in, grab a tech and a service manager, and take them out to replicate the sound myself. That will make 3 visits and if no fix is made, it comes into Lemon Law territory. So, I immediately get in the car, drive it to the dealer. I tell the service writer to leave the car outside and to n
  4. Update: No update. Chevy was supposed to call today but of course, nope. I called at 4:30 and got the girls VM. So thats encouraging. NOT.A.GOOD.START.
  5. If this was a year into ownership, in a second! But seeing as I'm only 90 days in, not a chance. Thats a bad sign of possible things to come. I'm just generally pissed. But I'll probably have to keep my mind open since I have a feeling thats what GM will say.
  6. I've had a filter collapse internally before and it was an instant and constant knock. If they tell me to piss off then I'll have THEM do an oil change. But if the filter (GM FILTER) is shit, the engine is roached.
  7. Got off the phone with the regional dealer manager. That went down like a turd in a punchbowl. This is going to be a fight. First thing that was said is "You have a warranty for these issues". My retort was "Yes, but 90days in and 3k miles is ridiculous to already need a new engine." I told her that I have no interest in having it in the shop over and over again nor do I want to go thru the hassle of the Lemon Law. I said that an even VIN for VIN swap of the exact same car or a step up is about all I'll accept, aside from a full buy back. Goddamn I hate arguing.
  8. Pretty sure this isn't an oil issue. This morning I got in it and not only was it quietly knocking (60degrees) but now it has a surge in the idle. I quit.
  9. We'll see. They will probably tell me to piss off and take it to the shop.
  10. I'm not giving up hope. I would be satisfied with an equal swap. I like the car. I don't think I'm out of line in asking for a swap after only 90 days and a potential new engine. Thats retarded. I just want what I paid for. Nothing more nothing less. If I wanted to be in the shop 2+ times in the first 3mths I would have bought a Mitsubishi. And if I wanted a project, I would have bought a $500 car not a 15k car
  11. It does it loudly for 2-3min then tapers off when its cold. When the engine is warmed up it just kinda sounds like an old Dodge Aries and clunks away. You have to listen for it but its there. Wasn't when I bought it. Getting slowly worse. And no, it didn't do it till about 1k miles after the oil change.
  12. Still got faith in Chevy. My wife's Sonic is a good little car. I like everything about my Spark except for the engine. And electrical system. And speakers. Guess I just really like the paint and the MyLink.
