  1. Mine never had a really strong bad smell, it was just enough to be a nuisance and it was there every single time the air was on. I tried to mask it with one of those vent air fresheners but I could still smell it. The air circulation didn't help it at all, and it was there no matter how long the air was running. It just never went away until the repairs were made yesterday. I still think that was my first hint that something was wrong with the AC.
  2. Grasshopper, I have the jalapeno. My husband named it the day I bought it. I also refer to it as the Little Mean Green Machine.
  3. Just got back from picking up my Spark at the service dept. of my dealership. The service receipt the dealership gave me states that they replaced the AC compressor, expansion valve, condenser, and AC belt. There was debris found in the original condenser. I noticed on the ride home that the musty smell I had noticed whenever the air was on since day 1 of ownership was completely gone, and it seemed to me that the AC was blowing colder than it ever had before. My dealership was great to deal with - took it in on Tuesday morning and they ordered the replacement parts and had them in yesterd
  4. 7 dogs and 5 cats here. I volunteered for local shelters and did a lot of transporting to rescues for a while, and as a result ended up with more than I ever expected to have. All but one dog is a rescue or shelter dog and all of the cats were either shelter cats or dumped somewhere and we took them in. The biggest dog is 72 lbs and the smallest about 22 lbs. The cats are all over 10 lbs. They all pretty much rule the house. Went on our first vacation in about 9 years last week and the fee to board the dogs was more than a week in a nice hotel at the beach, but I wouldn't trade them for
  5. I'm just north of Parkersburg, WV. I know there's another jalapeno Spark running around the area but I've only seen it a time or two. Everyone who stops and looks at it thinks it's electric or a hybrid and are surprised to learn that it isn't and I still get such good gas mileage. The local dealer where I got mine hasn't been able to get in another jalapeno - he has techno pink, white, silver, black and a salsa. I'd really like to see the 2014 light blue-lavender one (grape ice?), but I really like my jalapeno. There's a 2013 salsa Spark on the local Pontiac dealer's used car lot. Can't
  6. That Silverado wouldn't be so bad if it had a running board to help me climb up into the cab - being only a little over 5' tall sucks sometimes. We have a 2004 GMC Sierra and the Silverado is definitely higher than it. The smell I experienced was not really strong, but it sounds like what you described. I kept wondering if it was mold growing somewhere and that caused me to be really concerned about it because I occasionally have passengers with breathing problems and allergies - not to mention that breathing that kind of thing is no good for anyone. I'm supposed to get my Spark back this
  7. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that my Spark is a 1LT automatic and that I had noticed a "musty" smell when the AC was on almost from the first day I owned it. I did mention this to the service rep at my dealership when I took it in, but he didn't have a response. I wonder now if that was an indication that all was not well with the AC from the get-go.
  8. Hi all, new to this forum but I have a 2013 Spark that I've owned since early July. Took a trip in it last week (9 hrs. each way). The AC worked great on the way down and all week, but gave out halfway through the trip home, blowing warm air and making a high-pitched whine about a minute after it was turned on. I turned it off for a bit then back on, still the same. Took it to my dealer yesterday and spent all morning there. I asked the service rep when I came in if anyone else was experiencing problems with their Spark's AC, and of course, the answer was no. I mentioned that I had seen
