  1. Hey all! Been a while, I no longer have my spark but just got this letter in the mail today: Dear Mr. Golden: We have learned that your 2013 model year Chevrolet Spark may have a condition where the air conditioning (A/C) system does not work or cools intermittently due to inaccurate control of the evaporator temperature sensor. Your satisfaction with your Spark is very important to us, so we are announcing a program to prevent this condition or, if it has occurred, to fix it. What we will do: Your Chevrolet dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the A/C compressor. Your dealer w
  2. I've maintained my vehicle at the dealership following all maintenance schedules and I have the car fax I can show you to verify my claims. In fact when I traded it with just under 30k the dealer was quite impressed with how clean and well maintained it had been. My previous car pushed well over the 150k mark, and the only reason I traded that is gas and lack of parts (discontinued was something I heard a lot of and decided it was time) and the gas was costing me more than a new car payment every month. That car was also maintained at the dealership. I've learned a lot over my years of driv
  3. We're not sure at this point, I'm betting lot damage. The back panel has had work done to it and has a tape line on the vehicle and overspray on the weatherstripping. None of it was disclosed to me at the time of purchase, so were trying to work it out before we have to get attys and all that mess involved.
  4. I worked a better deal out on the Focus than they wanted to work on the Fiesta. I saved about 1500 grabbing the focus. GL with your fuses! Yea I was one of those poor guys with some of the first run Foci, it was horrible to say the least, however my friend had an 00 Focus and ran 200k + miles on it before sending a rod through the side of the block. His current 09 has 112k and is on original clutch and still "doesn't need plugs" all he's put into it are tires, brakes, wipers and gas.... I can't tell you how shocked I was when the salesman said "So, how do you like the Focus?" I almos
  5. Florida lemon laws aren't all that protective, and I couldn't afford to wait to go through that mess down here. So far I'm doing well with the focus, miss the city mpg of the spark though. Yea I'm on focus fanatics now same username. Pretty active community over there with lots of ideas for tweaking for me
  6. So my Spark is no more. I had to go to NY from Fl for a family emergency and I figured I'd drive my sparky to save about 450 vs a same day plane ticket. Since mile 7: The ac has been replaced....twice The engine has been replaced Several trim pieces have been replaced The ac still blows warm at idle Headlights The car needed prior to my trip: Exhaust replace Stairer valve Upon getting to Ny my front and back washer pumps failed making it so I couldn't see on the roads A funky rattle started in the dash The engine started making a whooooooooooooo noise (mind you less than 1500 mi
  7. I have to go to NY for a family emerg from florida I'm leaving this afternoon lets see what I can do
  8. Why did they replace your spark plug? I had an oil leak into the fourth plug and they ended up having to replace the engine.
  9. Once my engine breaks in I'm going to go for it. I got 385 once before it started going crazy about fill fuel
  10. Yea I had to call chevy today about the Cheney dealership here in Florida. They refused to look at my sparks AC as recommended by my normal dealership stating: "you got your warranty work done there, take it back to them" I was so mad I could have shot fire from my eyeballs! It's a Chevy and a Chevy dealership refusing to work on it under warranty...the audacity
  11. +1 that helped my trade in value it does help to see all those oil changes
  12. Yea I don't trust those brush wash systems either. Many dealers offer free washing service with the purchase of a vehicle. I know my dealer anytime I go in and ask for a wash they take it back and handwash it for me. I'd much rather handwash the car myself most of the time though, that way you can pick up on any imperfections or new dents/scratches and address them rather than let them go and see rust. Besides this car is just the right size, ten-fifteen minutes tops (depending on if you hand dry or not)
  13. Well I get my spark back tomorrow. Wondering if I should follow the owners manual again for the breakin or drive it a bit more fast. Let me know! Thanks!
  14. See my thread in the help section about oil leaking into spark plug 4. They replaced the same gasket on mine and it continued to lead and are replacing the engine now. Make sure they do a compression test on it.
  15. Update: I should be getting my car again finally tomorrow! I'm pretty excited, but now I'm wondering if I should be rougher on this break in than I was on the previous breakin.
