  1. Still loving ours. The thing is, is you rarely see post about people not having issues. First hiccup in any product and people flip out. Heck, I think there are a couple people on this forum bashing the crap out of the spark and gm, and not only do they not currently own a spark, but never have. It isn't till someone asks, that you'll see the people that haven't had issues and still like it.
  2. Again, your car, your choice. If it were me in the same situation (vandals or break-ins around my area), I would choose not to advertise something special on something I can't always be able to see. Clothing brands, style can't be compared to a car. Lol. The clothing aspect, while it can be used as freedom of expression, or advertising that you spent more on the same thing you could get cheaper at Kmart, is changeable. People are less likely to vandalize or steal it off your back. Again it's your choice. Also as said photoshop can help you lay out graphics or decals on your car. Could always u
  3. In your case, with all the worries of vandalism and needing 24/7 video monitoring of your car (based on you other threads) why would you want to draw attention to "goodies" installed? Either way, I would opt for decal going on a glass surface for quick removal for if and when you trade it in.
  4. I have had one issue with my spark (other than dealers installed option that were missing). It was my cruise control. Just needed a new switch. The 6 speakers are deceiving. The front 2 speakers are considered 4 cause they are two way speakers. So don't let that be a deciding factor.
  5. I know that "Funspot" place psquare75. We got our spark due to my Mini Cooper making an awful tick/clack sound and finding ferrous metal in the oil. Loved the mini, but didn't love the repair bill it would have been, so went with a still fun to drive under warranty car.
  6. Why not use a multi-meter to test the amp draw from the battery when you have it in the acc setting? The biggest issue here is that a camera won't do much good if the key is left in the ignition. You won't even have footage to view if the car is gone. Make you own constant powered socket. You be happier in the end.
  7. I'm familiar with the "DEI" brand as that's what we supplied. Shop around, but eBay may be a good source. There are DIY methods of bypassing the system entirely, but it will probably void your warranty. It's just a matter of finding the resistance value, and splicing into the pass lock wires with a resistor ( or resistor pack, depending on value ).
  8. In my time of doing installs professionally, the only thing that was vehicle specific is the bypass module. That is the component that will allow the remote start to learn the code specific to your key. There is also a bypass module that you physically put your spare key into, but I never liked those.
  9. Most places will not install remote start systems on a manual vehicle. The reason is the safety clutch. To do it proper, requires extra part and work. The quick dirty way is to run a jumper on the clutch pedal relay. The problem with the later is that the car will turn over even if it's in gear. Not a good thing if you try to remote start a car in a parking lot if it's in gear.
  10. To add to what Walt said, an after market remote keyless entry can be installed. You weren't being ignored either. It's usually good "forum etiquette", to not answer if you do not know an answer. I'd rather get no answer than people saying "I don't know". Lol. Gotta remember also that people don't sit here waiting for posts to answer. Be patient.
  11. That original post was when we first noticed an issue. It would do every thing from turn on on its own, not turn on, be on but not engage, and be on and auto disengage.
  12. Our spark had a cruise issue. Here's a link to the thread, with the final fix. http://chevysparkforum.com/topic/1324-any-issues-with-cruise-control/?fromsearch=1
  13. Just got my letter in the mail today. My AC hasn't had any issues that I have seen, but we are going to contact the dealer and wait to bring it in till they have the parts.
  14. One thing to keep in mind is that the spark keeps supplying power till you open the drivers door, after turning off the key. Most vehicles that do this do not have an 12v switched source at the radio either. So installing an after market system would require you to go to the fuse panel to find a 12v switched source.
