  1. I wish I would've seen this thread sooner, I just got the letter from Chevrolet for the Recall of the A/C compressor. I talked to my friend who works at the dealership and he told me there is a recall for it to check it and replace it "if needed", however today my friend told me that it seems GM/Chevrolet is switching the recall from "just checking it" to making it a "mandatory replacement." I called the dealer service parts where my friend works and they got my information down and told me they'll order the parts and it'll take 2-6 weeks to get the parts. -_- dang it. The good thing is it's
  2. Hey bluer101, A quick question not necessarily regarding the topic, but a curiosity with the stereo. The AUX/USB that connects to the stereo is a 5 pin connector? Do you know if you can remove the usb and aux from the housing where you connect your device (basically what the driver see's underneath the lighter). I'm asking because, I'm thinking of giving this a shot (if GM did the same thing as the USB port on the camaro, where the USB is actually connected by a Micro USB cable that goes into the stereo) with a Aftermarket radio that has USB capability I was thinking of buying the Spark LT
  3. Metra doesn't sell to the General Public directly. I called them and they helped find local shops that I can call that are vendors of Metra and ask them to sign-up for the pre-order, or Metra also said I can wait until its available at Best Buy, but they would recommend to call the local shops they provided that way I can get it faster. Sadly there are only 2 vendors near me and 1 of them is permanently closed and the other one I called and left Voice Mail, but they never called back. They have a bad habit of not returning calls... You can call them and ask to help you find local shops
  4. I was thinking so too, but now I wonder if by changing the Stock Speakers to Kickers and adding the Kicker Hideaway to the car it already voided the warranty. I don't understand how by adding Power Door Locks it would void the warranty when it is being installed at the Dealership by their 3rd Party vendor. Yup, I agree with Greg. Its ridiculous and garbage how they are against it. I might have to send an e-mail to Chevrolet directly and see what they have to say.
  5. I wrote this on a different Topic, because we were talking about it. However, I think this will fit better here. I found out that Metra has the new Kits for the Chevrolet Spark 2013 to change your radio to either a Double Din or a Single Din. http://www.metraonline.com/files/catalogs/CES_2013_NPG.pdf <-- PDF of METRA new Products http://www.technologytell.com/in-car-tech/3030/add-some-aftermarket-spark-with-new-metra-installation-kit/ <-- Original Site I found about the KIT. I also spoke to a Metra Representative by calling them. He had stated that Yes they had the kit, however he
  6. I use regular 87 Octane Rating ever since I bought the vehicle. Don't hear any knocking or anything. Plus, like a few have mention it's a small engine. I wouldn't want to spend more on a higher octane if it could run perfectly on the lowest (cheaper) octane. Definitely makes a big difference fueling the Spark compared to my Camaro SS <- Damn that thing uses the Highest Octane Premium fuel. On a side note: I wonder what kind of car would use the Racing Fuel? There is a Speed Way by my area that has that type of fuel on 2 pumps. Octane is like 99 or 100 rating. I wonder, but not tempted t
  7. I saw the bulletin somewhere else and wasn't sure what transmission or if both it was affecting. The bulletin where I saw it didn't had much detail. However glad to had found this.
  8. Hello, Has anyone installed Keyless Entry on a LS Spark Model? or installed Power Door Locks? I have been going around town getting quotes from different Places. This is what I have (The locations are in Northern Illinois around the Waukegan/Gurnee area) Best Buy - The guy at best buy told me it would cost 20 bucks to check if the Spark has the electric or standard configuration for door locks. (His thought was if its electrical "meaning works with wires sending the signal" they won't be able to do it". If it is not electrical then it would cost 100 per each door + any modules or extra thi
  9. I like it, it sounds very good! good bass for the car. Pretty much matches perfectly for the car size. However, of course I do like better the Camaro, but that's because it has 9 speakers (Boston Acoustic) + 2 12" Inch Subs (Polk Audio) with Dedicated AMP. <-- It's insane I know -_- I think I overkilled it. But overall the spark sounds very good! One thing, now I'm not sure but it may be my phone, the volume, I need to raise up about 3/4 or near max to have loud music. I think it's just my phone not doing the best of outputting the music loudly. After all, I am using the AUX cable since I
  10. Just to update, I just received a call back from Metra, they stated that the kit will work for any model of the Spark. They also stated that I was correct, there will be a kit for Spark and is in production right now, they aren't sure how soon they will get them but they are anticipating to get them some time this "spring". The model # for Double DIN is: 95-3309B Single DIN is:99-3309B They do not have pricing, Metra isn't a retail so they don't have prices for customers, however they still don't have pricing for Dealers or anything. So there is no clear word on the pricing. Hope tha
  11. Here are the finished pictures of the Kicker and Bass Control. Sorry, had to pull the net, otherwise it wouldn't look perfectly The bass control in the Glove compartment.

  13. I will keep you posted. I called Metra yesterday but reached them 1 min too late and they were close, I left a voice-mail asking about the product release and pricing. I think it said Spring 2013 or Summer 2013 (read it somewhere yesterday). Yep, I have the LS version, however Metra will most likely have one for the LT version as well, shouldn't be much difference except probably some wires/connections. (Not sure) we won't know until we see them, or it could be that they will sale it as an all-in-one regardless of model.
  14. I have the frame, to answer your question hit this link. Metra just announced the new Harness for Chevrolet Spark 2013. The link below is the news/announcement http://www.technologytell.com/in-car-tech/3030/add-some-aftermarket-spark-with-new-metra-installation-kit/ For the actual harness go to: http://www.metraonline.com/ I'm Excited! Can't wait to have a custom radio.
  15. Nice! I setup the remote boost to be in the glove compartment and ran the wire all behind the dash to the side with the power cable. I'll take pictures of the finish project. Next step aftermarket Radio. Already have the Custom Frame for a Double din radio. Just got to find a good Stereo.
