  1. That's what I do too. What I don't get though is the highway is where it should be (38/39) but driving in the city is 24-25 around there. I don't get it. I filled up today I'm gonna wait until empty and if it's still low I'm bringing it in. And to be fair I'm not using the ac.

  2. Tires are at 38, air filter is good, using Mobil 1 5w20 synthetic oil up to full mark on dip stick. Using BP 87 octane gas. The last time I was in for a free oil change and tire rotation they did an update on the computer a recall for the cvt new programming instructions I forgot the recall number. Maybe that's what could be.  Since then and including now I'm getting 25-26 mpg. Yes I have been using the A/C off and on but still. It used to be where the 1st mark on the gas meter would go away at maybe 26/27 miles now its at 7/8 tank at maybe 18/19 miles.

  3. Just last week (August 13-17) I took a mini vacation in Panama city beach Florida and drove about 1000 miles there and back to my hometown central Illinois (Peoria). Each time I filled up I constantly got around 38-39 mpg average when I calculated it on paper. And I did about 75 mph driving too. Now city on the other hand is still lower. Just filled up and got a figure of about 25.5 mpg. Still trying to figure that one. Just filled it with BP gas so I'll see what happens.

  4. That brings me up on another issue though. While I was driving especially through hills the engine would rev high like 3500 to 4000 rpms to get it up to and keep it at the highway speed. Is this going to hurt the engine at all like blow it up or anything? It has synthetic oil at proper weight 5w20 and filled to proper level. Just curious. Thanks.

  5. When I took my car in for maintenance work (17 spark lt cvt) they performed a recall 18089 which has some kind of programming I guess with the cvt. Ever since then the mpg average had gone gm down by maybe 5 or 6 from what I'm used to in the city. Would this update cause it. Would disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cause this. How long till it goes back to normal?

  6. It's not too bad. Hey is 5w20 Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil from Walmart recommended oil to use with our cars the 2017 version? Just curious because I used that oil and it's at the full line and getting a slight moan for 2 to 3 seconds then it goes away. Maybe I'm being paranoid. I don't want the synthetic blend oil at the dealership. BTW nice wheels.

  7. Yea it does take a while to get the car up to speed but it's not too bad. 75 - 80 mph is usually as fast as I ever drive on the interstate. I took two trips to Chicago and both times I got about 34-35 mpg average so that's not too bad though there are since bigger compacts and mid size cars that can prob come close to or do better. I'll be taking a 2,000 mile round trip from Central Illinois (Peoria) to Panama city, Florida August 13 so I'll see how things go.

  8. Went today to get one of the free maintenance trips done.  I asked them to put in fully synthetic oil and they put in 0w20 dexos semi synthetic instead I noticed from the printout they gave me.  Can I still put in full synthetic or no?  Also, they say on the sticker that I need to go in  5 months/5,000 miles but in the book I go 7500 miles on the oil and up to 7500 miles on tire rotation.  I thought 5 month/5000 miles is a short time for oil changes.  I'd like to just put in fully synthetic oil to protect the engine and then just do it myself from now on but I don't know if I would be safe since there was semi synthetic oil in there.

  9. Do I need to use to free oil changes and if I don't will it mess up the warranty? I don't know if they will use synthetic blend or full synthetic I'd rather have full synthetic used which I filled up at the first oil changed at 1000 miles.

If I do my own oil change will it mess up the warranty?

I'm guessing the correct oil filter to use is the UPF64R? That's what I saw in the manual but the car had PF64 on when I bought it new.

I'm taking a 1,900 mile total trip in about a month and I want to be ready.  Thanks.
