  1. This one sounds like 10x better, id honestly recommend going this route. The only trouble I had was with the Remote turn on wire. I had to wire it to the 12v cig lighter in the front of the car.
  2. Here's the new setup! The only thing that is missing is the grille I got to go over the subwoofer!
  3. Well so the third unit was not the charm and neither was the fourth. I just gave up on this whole install. The kicker hideaway is probably one of the worst products in my opinion now. Even the best buy geek squad advised me against buying the unit. So I went with a Kenwood 1000W Amp and a Kicker CompS10 Subwoofer. The sound is a whole lot better and it was a lot easier to install!
  4. So I did a little more troubleshooting with the power coming into the amp itself. But I still had no luck. So I wanted to test something; I went out and bought a brand new Kicker Hideaway. Well wouldn't you know that as soon as i plugged that in the sub worked perfectly fine. So it must have been the refurbished unit.
  5. So still no luck. I even re-wired the entire thing. I'm guessing my battery isn't giving the sub enough power.
  6. I'll try that and get back to you with results! Thanks!!
  7. So I plugged in the new sub and I still have the same problem. Any ideas?
  8. Well just sent the defective item back this morning. So I'm guessing it will be about a week and a half before I get the new unit
  9. Yeah I believe its the hideaway so Im calling for a replacement tomorrow! Thanks for your help!
  10. I ran the wire straight to the battery. The kicker is still shutting off when the volume is above 10. I did check all the wiring. So I'm guessing it could be the kicker sub itself or it could be my battery.
  11. I hooked the +12v line going into the kicker hideaway into the radio fuse. So I'm guessing I just need to do the direct line to the battery. And yes i am using the same kicker hideaway. Also I was wonder how did you get through the firewall. I saw your pictures. But just wanted some extra directions. Thanks!
  12. Okay, so I followed this same set up. But the only thing i did differently was I tapped into the fuse for the radio which is located right below the steering wheel. Now the problem I am having is that the Sub keeps shutting off or doesnt play the base when the volume is about 10. Can anyone explain this?
