  1. Yeah. I thought about replacing the mylink several times, but I quite can't convince myself to spend the money to install something better. I dont really plan on keeping the spark a whole lot longer, I dont drive it enough and we have another car.
  2. Take it back to the dealer, they have to reflash the firmware for your mylink.
  3. First car in the us was a 2008 chevy cobalt 2.2l 5 speed manual, spent too much time and money modifying it. Worst car was a 2003 mazda6 i grand touring. Very comfortable but had both front wheel bearings and axles replaced due to the cv joints going bad at 40k miles, a couple of the ignition coils had to be replaced just before the cv joints failed, motor mount collapsed and pretty much all rubber parts under the hood were gone and replaced by 60k miles (so much time finding vacuum leaks!)had a power steering leak and the transmission said bye bye at 73k, very happily traded for the spa
  4. Looks good, But the seats fold flat and pretty much accomplish similar result.
  5. Did you have any recalls done? Or took the car for service?
  6. It isnt hard to do, run power from battery to a relay, trigger it from the original power socket and make holes for the ports. Or get one of these and skip all thw work USB Car Charger, TeckNet PowerDash D2 9.6A/48W 4-Port Rapid USB Car Charger with BLUETEK Technology For Apple iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 / Mini 4,Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01456U4N2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CwdJzb59KCZK7
  7. It shouldnt be more than 2qts, usually they got a check plug on the side of the case above the drain plug, and you fill until it barely starts comming out of that hole.
  8. they make little power and little torque, and gm pairs them with low cost wear parts. When the driver rides the clutch to compensare for the lack of torque it just tears itself to shreds at some point.
  9. I have a 2014 and I will never make it to 100k on the spark, I used to have a long commute to work but now i work 5 minutes from the house. Plus I got a 7yr extended warranty... I'm really not worried at all.
  10. I can make mine do it on command every time, just by letting off the gas wait until the rpms drop then just step hard again.... I'm just gonna let it ride until it blows up and let chevy give me a new cvt.
  11. Thats exactly how I run mine most of the time. I don't drive it during the hot times of the day, just early morning and late afternoon so my ac is mostly off all the time.
  12. Clutch failures are really related to driving habits, so it could have failed sooner. Cv joints crunch before they fail rule that one out. A transmission would give you a few signs before failing like that and Im pretty sure the spark doesnt have enough torque to break one. I would focus on the clutch or shift linkage. If the levers are held by roll pins one of them could have sheared and now the lever is just moving on the shaft without actually engaging anything in the transmission.
  13. I would not worry about it those things are very small and light.
  14. Turn off the recirculation and the air will flow from outside, but if the outside air is too humid it will fog your windows.
  15. Front passenger air bag will only deploy with a passenger on the seat. Insurance company does not have any saying on why an air bag deployed or did not deploy, modern air bags use a quite complicated system to determine if they should deploy or not deploy. If insurance companies could deny a claim over something like that they would be the ones sending you recall letters. Like bobby said, on the spark the air bag will deploy, but it could hurt a child, but should not hurt an adult.
  16. Drop it off at the dealer, if after diagnoatics they find out the repair will take more than a day and it is covered under warranty you have the right to get a rental. I never had to be without a vehicle any time i took any of the three chevy vehicles i have owned to have repairs done under warranty they even drop me off and pick me up for a simple oil change so i dont have to wait.
  17. Your best bet would be a big used parts retailer like lkq, or ebay to find the air bags and seat belts. The hood and bumper I would try locally as shipping would be expensive.
  18. Gear head, by reading his post it sounds like a hit and run, I don't think he knows who hit him.
  19. A great site to find out that kind of information is crutchfield.com It fits a double din or single depending on how you setup the dash kit that you will need to install a new radio.
  20. Definetely not a cheap smaller version of an equinox. I would go for a shrunk version of a chevy traxx as they kinda sorta belong in the same family.
  21. Certified cars are just a gimick to crank the price up. Mine was certified 5 min before I signed the papers by the finance guy so I could get a lower interest rate. All those issues should be covered under bumper to bumper warranty. Find another dealer or get a hold of chevy customer service.
  22. Any mechanic that I have taken a car to will not do shit unless you can replicate the trouble. You cannot fix a problem that you cant find. Take it to another dealer, if you got noise, and rough idle they dont need a check engine light to start diagnosing the car. If If the light is on then they can simple hook the diagnostics tool and start working from there. If the light is off and you are not hearing or feeling or seeing anything they have nothing to start with.
  23. Are the fans running with the ac off right after you turn the car on? If they are check the fan relays in the fuse box under the hood, theres a chance someone shorted the relay to keep the fans running so the car would not overheat.
