  1. Junk the fix a flat and compressor and buy a spare tire set from a Aveo to fill in the hole. Grab a thin plywood board anf cut to size glue your carpet to it and put over the spare. Money better spent than a piece of foam
  2. Mine has 12k now and I get an occasional hum, can't point it out if it is a bearing or something else... I'll just wait for my free oil change and have them look at it. The car is one of the cheapest cars in the us, so I don't expect much from it. But I can say that my long gone base model cobalt had better a/c and never had a bad bearing, nor burned a drop of oil, and it cost me way less money brand new than my slightly used spark.
  3. My opinion is to have her drive both and see which one she will like, if any. 2014 has the cvt, 2013 is a 4sp auto, they don't drive the same. 2014 Lt with that mileage is a bit on the high side also.
  4. Tpms sensors are not cheap, should be about 40-50 dollars in labor as they have to unmount and remount and balance the tire to replaced the sensor. And program it to the tpms system in the car. Dealership will definitely not install it for free on aftermarket wheels, unless the dealer put the wheels on the car prior to selling it to you.
  5. Well, this is not a diesel nor a for fiesta, so it will not drive the same. Diesel engines have a lot of torque which require no gas to get the car crawling forward. The Ford fiesta has quite a bit more power than the spark, so less gas input to get it moving. I have not driven the spark manual, but I've driven some low powered cars. Driving a manual car is not all about the clutch you need to be able to control all your inputs, gas, shifter and clutch just right to make the car movery right. You are overheating your clutch by holding it too long, or the clutch is shot from previous owne
  6. They seem to have found what's triggering the alarm. Second thing is if your key is in bad shape you may have problems starting the car, try the spare if you have one.
  7. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the company, the problem is the dealerships service department. Try to reach out to the gm customer service person here in the forum and send them some detailed information, some people were actually successfull at getting their stuff fixed after they got in contact with the cus toner service person.
  8. Your never buying American again comment is quite funny, Hondas and Toyotas are more American than gm and Ford right now. It's not about buying this brand or the other brand, it's about knowing what you are getting into when you buy the second cheapest car in the country.
  9. Well I guess you knew what you were expecting when you took it to best buy. I'm just a firm believer that if you do it right, you only do it once. Good luck with it, but it will turn into a headache when that plastic panel starts to tear trough those wires.
  10. Whe you get the seat in the desired position let go of the handle and rock it back and forth to make sure it clicks locked in place. If it does not then take it to the dealer.
  11. Thats one shitty install, they could have run all that trough the rubber grommets, they kust need to take the doors out, i would never drive out with that.
  12. Well. All i can say is get a different dealer, make an appointment, walk in and talk to the service manager, explain what is happening without getting loud and let them test drive the car. Get a hold of the cx service person here on the forum and send a message. Mpg being lower could also mean they turned the car on and let it sit for 30minutes running at the shop, then took it around the block to get lunch.
  13. Yeah, I'm taking it to lou bachrodt, I've been dealing with them for a few years. So far they have been pretty good with getting things done properly.
  14. Take it up with gm customer service, if you have less than 100k miles on the car, all of it should be covered under warranty, regardless of you being the first owner of the car, and they should also offer you a rental car for the time they have your car in the shop. Have your father drop the car off and also get a hold of someome in the 1800 number as they should not have billed you for the previous work.
  15. I'm sure gm ironed out the air conditioning issues, the engine issues will not be the same as it is a new different engine, and the cvt will probably be tuned differently to accomodate the extra hp and tq.
  16. Mine only bogs down if I floor it right away, if i give it gas progressively it picks up just fine, with no issues. In almost sure it's the "traction control" cutting down torque and not the transmission.
  17. Sorry bluer.. I went on vacation and didnt see the post. Im on fw 20.00 the explorer mode on mine has a way different folder setup than the videos I saw around. I have two storage cards, one is similar to the videos, the second only has a backup data folder, which has the same content as the nordata folder. I'll probably try to update it after I get the dealer to fix my ac again, as the last time they tried to blame the problem on my subwoofer install. So i'd rather not mess with the radio right now.
  18. I will assume that the wiring is not present at the rear door. My malibu 1lt has the regular mylink with the 4 speakers. It came with holes for 6x9's on the rear deck, but no wiring, also no speakers. The 6x9s on that car are available with the upgrade to a pioneer audo system, but all the cars without the upgraded stereo dont have the wiring. I would not expect gm to spend the extra few bucks to run wiring in a car that is made to be as cheap as possible if the trim level does not offer the extra 2 speakers as an option.
  19. Twice to hink, but it's really not necessary, the alarml will arm by itself after you lock, according to the manual.
  20. Ellsworth. You can program it yourself. Just get a blank cut.
  21. I removed the piece inside the fender, and I have a k&n filter... it just gives a little better pedal response, no extra power.
  22. With the size of speakers in this car you won't get good bass unless you add a subwoofer or shoehorn some 6x9s in the rear.
  23. Did everything work fine after updating it? Did you unlock the mirror link as well? I tried doing the mirror link on mine but my fw version doesn't have the two system folders on it and it says not to mess with it on that fw.
  24. Bluer, did you have to get your file from somewhere else or just downloaded the newer version to the stick and updared it? Any changes that need to be done for the spark?
