  1. Located the source of the new noise - a heat shield that the bolt came out of, rattling around. That still leaves the noise I suspect is the transmission again. I think I'll wait until it gets worse before I push the dealer to address it. I have 80k miles to go on the powertrain warranty so I guess there's no big hurry.
  2. Automatic CVT. I wasn't aware that there was a manual option on these cars, but I'm certainly no authority.
  3. I bought a 2015 Spark in January of 2016. I had what I was sure was a suspension noise. Dealer replaced everything (and I mean everything) on the left front suspension area. Said the noise was gone. It wasn't. Eventually they replaced the transmission and the noise went away. That was about 14k miles. Now at about 20k miles a very similar noise has returned, along with a new noise. The new noise is kind of a rattling or binding noise, only when I'm giving it a little gas. When I let off, it goes away. Give it a little gas and it returns. I've had the car into the dealer maybe 4 times for this,
  4. Update: After taking the car back to the dealer, going for a short ride to show the service manager the noise, they replaced more parts (brake caliper, CV shaft), and the noise remained. They ended up replacing the transmission, which took care of the noise. So, now I'm at about 20k miles and the noise is back. It's a little more subtle and less consistent now, but that'll likely change. Also there's another noise. Kind of a rattling/binding noise, only with a load on the transmission. If I let off the gas, the noise vanishes. Give it a little gas, it returns. It's not loud, but it seems to be
  5. Thank you for the input. I'll pass that along to the dealer when I tell them the noise is still there. I'm trying to visualize how loose brake caliper slider pins would be consistently rattling or binding but only during right turns (when I'm going over uneven or bumpy surfaces) and no other time.
  6. My 2015 Spark LS1 has 14,600 miles. About 1,000 miles back I noticed that any time I make a right turn there's a rattling/binding sort of sound that's coming from the left front area. The dealer installed a new strut, control arm and sway bar end links. They told me "it's fixed" but I could tell they didn't seem confident about it. They had the car 2 weeks, and said they brought in an engineer to look at it. Anyway, it's exactly the same as it was. My question is what's left that could be making the noise? It's consistently doing it, any time I turn right, whether it's a little or a lot. I'm t
  7. I think I'll use your idea, but I may be able to sit this little amp in a void already in the top of the foam, or trim it slightly if necessary. I don't want to mount the amp to the sub box because I want to be able to easily remove the box for storage if necessary. Thanks for the help.
  8. I don't know how I'd use that space without building a floor. I'd much rather avoid that. Seems like the seat back ought to hold some screws, but I'd feel better if I knew how thick that plastic under the carpet is.
  9. Hello! I just bought a leftover 15 Spark 1LS and the sound needs a little bump and a little sizzle. I thought I'd toss in a 12 inch sub and amp I already have. Where's a good place to mount an amp without going to much trouble? The seat back doesn't seem ideal because it isn't flat, but it might work. What's it made out of? Something I can put some self-tapping screws into? The side panel has a hump, but I guess I could use standoffs. Any suggestions would help. Also, I think I'll replace the fronts. Any suggestions as to what might be the easiest drop-in replacements would be great! Thanks
