  1. General Motors (NYSE: GM) is taking another major step forward in creating a strong, sustainable and scalable supply chain for electric vehicles. Today, GM and VAC of Germany announced plans for VAC to build a plant in the U.S. that will manufacture permanent magnets for the electric motors used in the GMC HUMMER EV, Cadillac LYRIQ, Chevrolet Silverado EV and more than a dozen other models using GM’s Ultium Platform. General Motors (NYSE: GM) and POSCO Chemical today announced plans to form a joint venture through which the parties will construct a factory in North America to process critical battery materials for GM’s Ultium electric vehicle platform. The joint venture will process Cathode Active Material (CAM), a key battery material that represents about 40 percent of the cost of a battery cell.   14. Today, General Motors announced plans to invest more than $46 million at its Parma, Ohio, metal stamping operation. This investment will be used for equipment upgrades and to prepare the facility to support future product programs.   15. Today, General Motors announced a new community charging program to install up to 40,000 Level 2 EV chargers across the U.S. and Canada.
