  1. Wow, exact same thing for me. I'm extremely disappointed with Chevy & after being in a family with LOTS of Chevys. I traded mine in for a Volkswagen Jetta. Honestly, with other people having the same problem, I wonder if this qualifies for some class action lawsuit. There are too many people with the same problems. And I would be beyond mad if my car engine or transmission died after just purchasing, as has happened with others. Well, Chevy no longer has my business. :/
  2. Update: I got a new transmission, and still have the same problem. Chevy now says that the slow acceleration from stop in the heat is just the way the car drives. Unacceptable that Chevy would manufacturer such a car, as the end user often wouldn't figure this out until after owning the car awhile. Too many problems with my car, so I traded it in for a Volkswagen. It's a shame, because I come from a Chevy family and have always loved Chevys.
  3. I checked in again today and aparently there are no more transmissions, and I am waiting for a new one to be manufactured.
  4. Interesting. I'm getting my tranny replaced because of slow accelration too.
  5. I recommend you push to get the vehicle looked at, if you're still under the power train warranty. The Spark CVT has always been bizzar & inconsistent for me. I was first told that "that's the way it drives" or I was unable to reliably reproduce the problem. Now, the problem is able to be reproduced when the engine is hot & it's 80-90+ Fahrenheit, accelerating from stop. However, my engine doesn't always respond the same in those conditions. Had pistons replaced, then PCM (computer) & now the whole transmission. So, just a thought.
  6. UPDATE: Per my advisor, the pistons were moving side to side (piston slap) just enough to trip the engine knock sensors , causing slow acceleration. Aparently there is a service bulletin out on this. Waiting on pistons to arrive at dealer.
  7. Thanks for the info. Been trying to educate myself on CVT, so I can make sure my dealer actually fixes the problem. To be honest, I've not been impressed. The cashier at my dealer had a spark and almost demanded that they buy it back, on account of bucking back and forth. They aparently fixed it, but the spark seems tp have too many engine/tranny problems.
  8. I have the '14 Spark LS, Automatic, ~36k. I, too, have the problem of slow acceleration from a full stop. I was able to duplicate the issue, whenever the outdoor tempertature is about 80°F or higher. After a test-drive with an advisor & a call back, I'm told this is NOT normal. Apparently, the transmission is working properly but, the knock sensor was going off, causing the slow acceleration. ... long story short the pistons might need to be replaced.
