  1. By golly, you're right. I wonder how I've missed this for so many weeks? Article is here: http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-chevrolet-spark-first-test-review/ One other question: The new 1.4-liter engine—is this truly an all-new engine or has it been in other models outside of the U.S. for a while? (I know the Sonic and Cruze have the 1.4-liter turbo engine, but this, obviously, isn't turbocharged).
  2. Good to see some people talking about the 2016s. The media hasn't even driven them or written any reviews about them (as a media member, I was asking if there were any in the vehicle fleets, and there aren't yet). I believe the media will get a chance to drive the '16, the new Cruze, and maybe a revised Sonic in the near future. Regardless, I'm really looking forward to driving a '16 and seeing how it stacks up against a '15. I really liked the '15 and just found a new '15 2LT MT on a lot near me in the color I'd want. I'm sure it'll go soon.
  3. Great idea for a topic! First car: 1992 Mitsubishi Expo LRV. It was a hand-me-down and at the time, I didn't like it. I mean, it wasn't the epitome of "cool," what with its sliding door and pregnant-rollerskate looks. Looking back, it was a great car, super practical, and ideal for a college kid. Best car: Well, I guess that depends. I'm leaning towards my current 2007 Toyota Yaris, as it's been great, sans the clutch that was replaced under warranty. Mine's got a lot of modifications to it that make it like a go-kart (intake, header, exhaust, intake manifold, springs, shocks, swaybars,
  4. YES! This is a smokin' deal for those of us that can actually buy one. I thought this was only going until the end of April, but it looks like they extended it.
  5. Good point. And by the way, there are still some '14s left on the market! (I keep an eye on one in Washington that is still coming down in price, but is already $4,000+ off MSRP!)
  6. One thing that I do on my website is track subcompact car sales, so I thought I'd share last month's data on the Spark. Spark sales were down 3.4% vs. April 2014. A total of 3,743 Sparks were sold. Year to date sales are down 4.2% with a total of 12,847 Sparks sold. You can see how other small car models sold here: http://www.subcompactculture.com/2015/05/april-2015-subcompact-car-sales.html The good news is Spark is still selling really well. It's outselling the Mitsubishi Mirage, Smart ForTwo, and Fiat 500, as well.
  7. I got to wondering, who has the most miles or kilometers on their Spark? Anyone over 100,000 miles?
  8. I'm no fan of CR, and as was posted, nearly all small cars take a beating in their publication. With regards to the owners' survey, I take it with a grain of salt—no matter what car it is. There isn't any differentiation between a broken radio and a cracked engine block. Plus, the majority of car buyers (not us fringe lunatic car enthusiasts) are going to complain more about a smaller, less expensive car, than a bigger vehicle, such as a Malibu, Fusion, Camry, or Accord, for example. But so be it. Again, I take it with a grain of salt. I've driven nearly every small car on the market for Sub
  9. Thanks for the "welcome." I'm Andy, and I run the website Subcompact Culture, which is all about small cars. (http://SubcompactCulture.com). We're big fans of the Spark and actually just got my mother-in-law into a '15 LT1. It's her first new car ever—and she's 78! I've been a long-time lurker here, but decided to actually join. Looking forward to begin here! - Andy
  10. I actually just got out of a week with the Trax. I really liked it. I run a website all about small cars called Subcompact Culture. You can check the review out here. http://www.subcompactculture.com/2015/04/review-2015-chevrolet-trax-ltz-fwd.html (FYI, we just got my mother-in-law a Spark. Her first new car ever and she's 78)
