Actually if you have this condition you will know it. When I had my 2014 the first software update caused this issue. When under acceleration or if you happen to catch it between shifts it would cause it to shift hard. When this happened the steel belt would slip. When it did it caused a serious vibration and you could hear it. About two months later a letter was sent out about doing a reprogram to fix driving issues with the transmission. The software did help with the slipping but on occasion it would still do it.

The transmission just wasn't that great as Nissan used it too and they had a terrible time with it also. Actually the transmission was made by Jatco which is a subsidiary of Nissan. I guess they worked the bugs out of it as it is still being used in the Spark to this day. I had 90,000 miles on mine when I traded it in and it was still going strong.

You may just have to buy a remote with buttons, have it cut, and program it which looks fairly easy. Do a search on here for flip key and the top thread should be  Newflipkey for my 2017 LS . Open that thread and see the last several posts. You should be able to do the same thing. I would have posted a link but it was doing some weird formatting to it so this is less confusing.

I got rid of my 2014 Spark in May. i loved that car but the main issue I had was other drivers. i cannot tell you how many times I got ran off the road, pulled in front of or got cut in front of. Why I have no idea. It just kept getting worse. It had almost 90,000 on it when I traded it in and it was still going strong. I ended up getting a 2017 Ford Escape that I love. Its not a large SUV but the road issues I was having with other drivers stopped. Its really strange. But I will say Oklahoma drivers are pretty bad in general anyway lol.

Your mechanic may have told you this already but usually the P0300 codes are fuel related. In this case P0301 points to an issue with cylinder one. If you were getting a P0300 code then that would mean random misfires across all cylinders. Thats the advantage of using top tier gas. Typically they will have more cleaners and detergents in them to keep the system and injectors clean.

A check engine light on can cause other weird issues. I had a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer that would occasionally set a light which in turn would disable the cruise control. So in your case maybe having a missfire can cause the traction control to interpret things wrong so GM programmed it to turn it off when triggered.

They aren't draining it. They are bleeding it. I didn't have to bleed mine after changing out the tank. I just filled it to the proper level and had zero issues.

Looks like the Spark Activ comes factory with the roof rack. You would just need to get the cross bars. This is according to the Chevy Spark official site.

How much of that was taken care of under warranty? What was your out of pocket? Do you have solid numbers or are you just pulling numbers from what you read. Things fail. It happens to all cars. Other then quirkiness from the trans my 2014 was trouble free. I traded it in with 85,000 miles on it.

What is it with people wanting to sue. Do you really think you would get anything out of it? The only people who get anything is the lawyers.

Its probably the overflow tank. Very, very common issue. They only seem to last about 40,000 miles. i had to replace mine around the mileage when I had my 2014.

I know you said dont suggest something else but you are going down the wrong path. It won't be the blower motor resistor or ac relay. The resistor gets bypassed on the top speed. If it worked on the top speed but no the other then thats a sign of a bad resistor. AC relay only controls the ac clutch. There is also a ac fan relay, not sure that our cars have one, but it commands the cooling fan and again has nothing to do with the blower. The blower motor is on a separate circuit since it has to work whether AC or heat is on or just circulating air. Its either a blower fuse, switch or the motor has went out. Easiest way to start troubleshooting  is to see if you are getting voltage at the motor and work your way back.

Does it have a 12 volt port? Just use that with a USB charger. Then get something like this:

You would just need to buy 17" wheels with the right size tire so you keep the same circumference as what you currently have. They normally call it +1 or +2 depending on if you are jumping one inch or two inches in wheel size.

What year is your car? I am not familiar with the build so does it have a throttle cable or is it drive by wire? If its throttle cable I would look for binding or something sticking. If it was drive by wire I would think it would set a code as the ecm closely monitors all that.

My 2014 does the same thing as it has the same CVT in it. Its something you get used too. The shudder is the steel belt in the trans slightly slipping. As Bobby mentioned you will learn how to keep it from doing it along with the RPM increase. Just the quirkiness of the trans.

No, its not in the manual. Comes from experience with the car, spending time on this forum, and lots of reading.

According to the manual the power socket is hot all the time. I know on some GM vehicles depending on how the fuse is installed will determine if you have switched power or constant power.

i don't know about the 2017 but on the 2015 Sparks with automatic trans there is a cover plate held on by two bolts that covers the holes for the clutch. You can take the plate off, drill a hole, install a rubber grommet and run your power wire through there. I had to do this when I ran power for my subwoofer.

I would find another dealership to take it too and see what they say. I would also contact GM customer care and open a case with them. The throttle system is drive by wire. There is no linkage from the pedal to the throttle body. So the drive motor on the throttle body would have to get a weird signal and activate. That is very closely monitored by the computer and will set a fault if it see's something like that happen. With no faults and no check engine light I can see where the dealership would think its a floor mat or something like that.

The other issues you describe I have seen one time with mine. It was due to a battery that was going bad. Really weird stuff like that happens with modern cars when the battery fails to give the proper voltage and amps but is still strong enough to start the car.

It wasn't too bad at all. Mine is a Curt hitch I got off Amazon. It tucks up behind the bumper so its pretty much hidden except for the receiver part.

Mine did it. I just bought a new remote, programmed it to the car, and then swapped the key part. I got the remote off of Ebay from a Chevy dealer for $30.

Is your car indeed a 2016? unless you put an insane amount of miles on it why are you even looking at spark plugs.

That doesn't mean that they were out to get you. A lot of times the service writer's have no idea what they are talking about. So one of three things would have happened. One, the tech checks the fuse first, replaces it and they charge you for a fuse and some labor if that.
Two, the tech replaces the pump, then realizes its the fuse and you get charged for both the pump and the fuse or possibly just the pump to avoid looking dumb.
Three, they notice its the fuse, replace it and then charge you for a new pump.
But the main thing is you were able to fix it yourself and not have to mess with the dealer.
