  1. Actually you don't have it quite right. The bumper to bumper is three years 36,000 miles. It would be covered under that but you are past the three years. The five year, 60,000 or 100,000 (can't remember which it is as it changed somewhere in there) covers internal engine issues. Usually, or it used to be, that would be anything that is internally lubricated which the thermostat is not. The $350 quote sounds high and I am not sure I would trust Midas to do this kind of job anyway. I would check with a independent shop. The part is expensive as its all electronic and integrated with the thermos
  2. You might get more info posting this in a Sonic forum and not a Chevy Spark forum. The Spark and Sonic share nothing in common.
  3. According to the 2017 owners manual it can be done it just takes the long way where it takes thirty minutes or longer. You start with the new key, and once its done program the old key.
  4. i had no idea they used cable control. A search showed that they indeed use cables. So my thought would be to take it for a second opinion and see what they say. If this is a dealer that quoted you that price then maybe find an independent shop that can look at it for you. I find it hard to believe that it would need a whole case assembly.
  5. So one of the ways I do it is to go to Discount Tires website and then plug in car and what size tires. In this case it would be considered +2 which means its two sizes above stock. This way it keeps the same diameter and won't cause speedo issues. According to them 205/40/17 or 195/40/17 would give you the same diameters as to stock. As far as tire pressure sensors go they are pretty universal in size so they shouldn't be an issue with the new wheels.
  6. From what I have read there are many complaints about Apple Car Play in GM vehicles having issues like this. Problem is who do you blame. Is it a GM issue or is it Apple.
  7. I installed one in my 2014. I used the high level inputs on the sub. I wired off the rear speakers which was easy because at that time the speakers were mounted behind the rear seat in the 13-15's. I think now they put them in the doors. I ran a fused battery wire straight off the battery to the rear of the car. The sub would power on when it detected signal from the speaker wires. Worked really good.
  8. A quick Google search found one for sale on Ebay. They show a picture of the back. No RCA connections. I was fairly sure they didn't come with them. https://www.ebay.com/i/362716382154?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=362716382154&targetid=872282209838&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9026243&poi=&campaignid=9248481498&mkgroupid=99428719168&rlsatarget=aud-412677883135:pla-872282209838&abcId=1141156&merchantid=7866994&gclid=CjwKCAiAy9jyBRA6EiwAeclQhHa9biT5NrxUeY7Utd27v1FRREis_doIk0FpMTjt-6Hh
  9. You might have better luck finding a forum for GM trucks.
  10. Here you go. Programming Keys to the Vehicle Only keys programmed to this vehicle will work. If a key is lost or stolen, a replacement can be purchased and programmed through your dealer. When the replacement key is programmed to this vehicle, all remaining keys must also be reprogrammed. Any lost or stolen keys will no longer work once the new key is programmed. Programming with Two Recognized Keys To program a new key: 1. Insert the original, already programmed key in the ignition and turn the ignition on without starting the vehicle. 2. Turn the ignition off, a
  11. It is definitely an issue with that new key. Thats the security lock stopping the key from starting the car because it doesn't recognize the key. Starting and then turning off three seconds later is also a sign that it is rejecting that key. It doesn't sound like it programmed right. So I pulled your manual and you need to read page 28 and 29 for programming a key. You are doing it wrong if you did it the way you describe in your original post.
  12. If it was fine before the install then it sounds like the dealer screwed something up installing the remote start. The better question is can they fix it lol.
  13. Actually if you have this condition you will know it. When I had my 2014 the first software update caused this issue. When under acceleration or if you happen to catch it between shifts it would cause it to shift hard. When this happened the steel belt would slip. When it did it caused a serious vibration and you could hear it. About two months later a letter was sent out about doing a reprogram to fix driving issues with the transmission. The software did help with the slipping but on occasion it would still do it. The transmission just wasn't that great as Nissan used it too and
  14. Have you tried it not sitting in the car? Maybe taking the weight off of it would help. I doubt they would put the levers there and not have them functional.
  15. So I pulled the manual and it shows that if two levers are there one adjust to adjust height and one is for reclining. You can find the manual here. Page 31 and 32
  16. Did you look in the manual? I am sure it explains what the two levers do.
  17. I wasn't being that way. i was merely pointing out that you were expecting answers from threads that were three plus years old. I was making you aware that those people are long gone and you weren't going to get answers. I mean, you were the one that said you would take the wheels and tires from a post that was four years old lol. Plus when you do that then somebody else comes along trying to help too and next thing you know you got this whole thread going from people trying to help somebody that was long gone four years ago. Proper forum etiquette is not to drag up old posts like
  18. Found this doing a quick search on this site: Hi! I believe I can take the mystery out of this situation. I have just completed a fluid and filter change in my 2014 Chevy Spark LT. The dipstick is located underneath the air cleaner (which you have to remove) in front of the battery tray. It is well below so that the air filter can be located. It has a little black cap with a slot on the filler tube, which can be accessed by depressing the clip inside the slot with a small flat blade screwdriver. Pull up on the black dip stick cap and the dip stick comes up with the cap.
  19. So first, how did you determine that the battery was good. Did you have it checked or did you just check voltage. If you just checked voltage it may be a battery issue. I bad or going bad battery will still produce 12 or more volts it just won't be able to provide amperage and it won't hold a charge. Second, if its not the battery then check everything including glove box, under hood lights, anything that may be stuck on. You can also put a volt meter that will do amperage inline and see how many amps is being pulled. Then start pulling fuses and see what circuit is ca
  20. Another several years old post. You really need to watch the posting dates when you are looking through past threads.
  21. This thread is almost four years old. i doubt you will get a response.
  22. What code is it? Might be able to help but we need the actual code.
  23. Like Bobby said, there is no recourse. Its out of warranty and you are at the mercy of the dealership. If you have multiple dealerships in your area you could have shopped around. A different dealer may have charged less.
  24. Have you checked the fluid level in the brake reservoir? If its low on fluid it would trigger the brake light and then I am guessing that would turn the traction control off. If it was something with the ABS system that should turn the ABS light on and if it was a wheel speed sensor that should turn the check engine light on. But those would be things to check.
