  1. i apologize for trying to help. Maybe a trip back to the dealer is needed.
  2. You don't have to call Onstar. We set this up in my wife's Sonic. You only get three free months from date of purchase but here is how to connect it. https://www.onstar.com/us/en/help-support/4glte/connecting-to-vehicle-wi-fi-hotspot.html
  3. I am running Pioneer 4" up front and 4"x6" in the rear with a Rockford Fosgate 12" powered sub in the back. I teed off the back speakers for the high level inputs for the sub. Its not recessed and does take up a huge chunk in the back but it sure sounds good. I had no intentions of putting something that big back there but I got a really good deal on it. The reason i chose the Pioneer's were because they were on sale. No other reason but I have been incredibly happy with the whole setup.
  4. The LS' have nothing but the infotainment system in them with the backup camera. They have nothing else. Somebody posted on here that the one they bought only had two speakers in it.
  5. This is normal and is even covered in the owner's manual. As Gearhead said above, There is no real solution.
  6. Code 82 is just the oil life meter at zero. Whoever changed it last didn't reset it. It isn't related to the overheating issue. The overflow tank is a known issue with these cars. I am sure Chevy is aware of it but as far as I know they haven't made a change to the tank. I do know it is very easy to change out so if anything when they do fail its an easy fix.
  7. I bought my wife an used 2015 Sonic LTZ sedan loaded with everything but sunroof for Christmas. Its the bright red with black leather. It had 8600 miles on it. She loves it. They are really, really nice cars. Oh, to add, my son has a 2014 Sonic LTZ hatchback that he has had for a while. Hasn't been to the dealer yet for any issues.
  8. Just make sure that when you buy seat covers they are made to work with the airbags in the seats. They have to be made in a way that they will tear apart and let the airbag deploy.
  9. Also consider that this car is no where even close to American. The whole thing is built in South Korea.
  10. I have a Curt hitch installed on mine. I use it for a bicycle rack. I ordered it off of Amazon. My Spark is the 2LT model with the fancy rear valance and it fit just fine. http://www.amazon.com/CURT-11316-Class-Trailer-Hitch/dp/B009PHUDFQ/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Chevrolet|47&Model=Spark|21603&Year=2015|2015&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=automotive
  11. Its a software update so there is no break in period. But it does learn driving habits and will make adjustments according to those habits.
  12. What happened is that they did fix the issue of it not dropping to first with a software update. That update introduced a new issue. They trans is just a tad slow to drop to first at times but will shift and will bind causing a severe vibration which is the belt slipping in the CVT. I noticed it right after they did a reprogram to mine. Somebody a while back had a brand new 2015 and was complaining about the same thing which meant they were using that software version in the new 2015's. That is why the 14 and 15's were recalled. I have not yet had the recall done as I was pretty sure it would
  13. There have been several on here that have had issues with the coolant tank leaking. You might look to see if you see any coolant around that tank. The tank is fairly cheap and easy to replace.
  14. I thought they would have got that behavior fixed by now. On my 14 it got better with the software update but i am afraid that when they do the reprogram to it due to the recall it will go back to that crappy shifting.
  15. And since it is a brand new design there could be a host of issues it brings that were not common to the older generation Spark. First year runs on a new car are always interesting.
  16. Just to add, the Dexcool that GM uses is orange. So that may be the rusty color you are talking about. I also agree about the blown head gasket. The sludge under the oil cap is not an uncommon problem. It could be just condensation built up or it could point to more serious issues. Here is a link that explains it more. But i do agree that it does sound like a blown head gasket. http://www.offroaders.com/tech/milky-stuff-under-oil-cap.htm
  17. You aren't going to get much bass out of the speakers. 4" speakers just can't push much bass. I would recommend a subwoofer. Makes a huge difference.
  18. The engine and transmission has a warranty of 5 years or 100,000 miles. You were still under factory warranty. As far as the replacement transmission that I am not sure about. i would think it would be longer but since it was replaced under warranty it may only be covered by the remainder of the warranty.
  19. At 99,000 miles it should have been still covered under the factory warranty.
  20. I was able to get a plastic pry tool under the edge of the cover and pop it off. They come off pretty easy. i couldn't reach it from underneath.
  21. The transmission has a five year, 100,000 mile warranty in it. Do you already have that much mileage on it? I would try another dealer. I do know the CVT will behave that way sometimes and a reprogram of the transmission helps with that issue.
  22. Mine does that occasionally especially if you don't stop long enough for it to decide what it wants to do. The transmissions are very quirky, I don't worry about it since its under warranty for so long.
  23. The recall was for UK Sparks and for the 2009 and 2010 model years. The USA didn't get the Spark until 2013 and it is entirely different then the previous UK models. The UK recall was announced in 2014. http://www.product-reviews.net/2014/01/09/chevrolet-spark-clutch-pedal-recall-for-uk/
  24. The original post said the latch for the hatch broke. I took that to mean the back which there is no recall on.
  25. My guess is it working correctly. Mine does the same thing. I know on other GM cars they will keep the torque converter from locking out to force the engine to warm up faster. This seems to be the same way. The computer is keeping the transmission in low until the engine starts to build up heat.
