  1. Well if you don't see "dead people', you're probably good to go. Carry on. :-)
  2. The Spark is not nearly as bad as some have made it out to be. It is in fact a well designed, well built, dependable, economical, safe small car.Glad to hear that you are happy with yours, as I am happy with mine. My Spark has met or surpassed all of the expectations that I have had with it.
  3. The Ford Fiesta has had numerous problems and it's reliability is way below average. Having said this, it is nice looking and drives nicely ( I have driven one.) And I don't know exactly what you mean about the clutch being vague? I have driven many vehicles with manual transmissions, everything from small cars to semis and the Spark clutch is actually quite precise. Shifting my Spark is fast and easy, I actually enjoy the drive train in it !!! At least to me, the Sparks clutch is anything but vague.
  4. Hi. I have a 2014 Spark LS with manual transmission. I don't think the shifter is "rubbery" what so ever. In fact, I find both the clutch and shifter quite precise . I previously owned a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 with a manual trans, and I find the manual in my Spark to be just as nice and precise as it was in the Focus. A manual Spark makes the most of the low hp engine in the Spark....take my word on that one. And with over 10,000 miles on my Spark, it has been 100% trouble free and even blows ice cold air here in the desert during the summer. As for gas mileage, always averaging right around 40 m
  5. The Fiat 500s are extremely troublesome.... a little research into them will show that. Personally, I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. Not to mention they are as ugly as sin. But as they say, each to their own. And as far as all Chevy dealers being lousy and not caring, that is not true at all. When my Spark got recalled for the possible defective PCV valve, Watson Chevrolet here in Tucson took care of it right away and treated me as if I had brought in a 70K Corvette to be repaired !! Also, one might wish to compare crash test results between the Spark and the Fiat. Spark real good, F
  6. You are exactly correct on that Gearhead....the mirrors do in fact 'taper' right at the point where they SHOULD NOT !! An example of how the mirror should be (totally rectangular), are like the ones that are on my wifes 2011 Honda Fit. Because of the too small mirrors on the Spark, changing lanes on the freeway always consists of me having to take a look over my shoulder and to the back slightly, to make sure the other lane is clear. Shouldn't have to do that really. If Chevy was to offer an "upgraded" set of outside mirrors, for safety's sake, I would buy them. The Sparks mirrors were designe
  7. With the exception of the too small outside mirrors, I love my Spark and at nearly 10,000 miles it has been 100% trouble free for me. Even the A/C has been fine and I live in the middle of the Sonoran desert.
  8. I drive often between Tucson and Phoenix on the I-10 at 80 -85 mph with my Spark. A/C blew cold through the entire hot summer and when I did MY OWN oil change at just over 6,000 miles, the oil was full on the dipstick and still golden in color. Now at around 10,000 miles and not a single problem with my Spark and I am averaging around 44mpg mixed driving. Oil still at full mark btw.
  9. Good luck with your Spark. I WAS doing real good with mine and than 2 recalls....PCV and hood latch. Watson Chevrolet took care of it for me and my Spark is running great and averaging 44 MPG mixed driving.!!
  10. Use a product called AWESOME. Buck a bottle at most dollar stores. Works great !!!
  11. Nice....Real nice !!!!
  12. Nice. As for the A/C....I live in Tucson Az and have a 2014 Spark LS, manual, with just over 9,000 miles. Even on days of 100 plus temps my A/C has been just fine. Takes a bit of time to get real cold but so far, so good. I do loose a little power while running it, but if I come upon a short, but steep grade, I just shut id down for the small climb. Works for me.
  13. Enjoy your new Spark. You will love the fuel mileage.
  14. I Especially agree with you on the instrument lighting. Even on the lowest setting, the gas gauge cluster is to bright!! In addition to that, the green light on the bottom of the speedo (that indicates headlamps are on) is SO bright green that I actually had to put some tape over it,,,,it was THAT annoying. As far as the doors though, I think they feel solid and so one does have to close them with a little more force than is expected. And Yes, the stock speakers are crap. I had better sound on my smart phone until I upgraded the stock speakers.
  15. Nice .... Enjoy your new Spark !!
