  4. The Spark is a more grown-up small car from Chevrolet and shows the firm is moving in the right direction. Style-wise, the Spark has a little fire in its belly and touches such the as the rear door handles being hidden in the window surround to give a sportier three-door appearance are welcome. Value remains at the heart of the Spark, though, and all of the engines get under the 120g/km emissions mark to offer low running costs. CLICK HERE TO READ THE REVIEW
  5. Chevy hasn't been hamming the Spark up enough. The www.Chevrolet.com/spark site isn't there any more either?
  6. Chevy builds Cruze-engined Super Spark for WTCC duty Chevrolet has built a special edition of its new Spark runabout for use as a pace car during World Touring Car Championship races this year. The Spark is powered by the new 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four that will power the Cruze when it goes on sale in the United States this fall. The turbo-four produces 140 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque while standard production Sparks are powered by 1.0 or 1.2-liter engines generating 67 and 80 hp, respectively, so this figures to indeed be a significantly hotter drive. The Spark turbo wil
  7. Two new Chevy Sparks join the Transformers 3 cast Chevy Spark Forum - Production of the movie Transformers 3 recently began to ramp up, and our spy photographers were lucky enough to grab a sneak peak of two of the newest cast members on set. It looks as though two new Chevrolet Sparks will be joining the lineup for the third installment of the action flick, adding to a star studded cast that already includes Ferrari’s all-new 458 Italia. Sporting “Autobot” center caps on the wheels, these two vehicles were captured doing some pre-production work before principal filming starts in a few week
  8. 2011 Chevrolet Spark makes U.S. debut Chevrolet officially unveiled its North America version of the upcoming Chevrolet Spark compact car earlier today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new five-door hatchback will slot in below the revised Aveo when it goes on sale as a 2011 model. Much of the Chevrolet Beat concept car’s styling has been carried over to the Spark, but there are a few details that have been toned town. The headlights are enlarged, surface development is somewhat less extreme, door handles have inevitably been added, and the production wheels are
  9. CHEVY BEAT FORUM - After revealing an eye-popping projected fuel economy figure for the Chevrolet Volt, General Motors took visiting journalists on a behind-the scenes tour of the carmaker's design studios for a look at its future product line-up. There was just one rule: No photos could be taken. So the photos you see here are of upcoming products -- or ones just hitting showrooms now -- that have already been seen publicly. 10. Chevrolet’s Spark to land in the US CHEVY SPARK FORUM - After flip-flopping on their decision to bring the new microcar to the US market several times, Chevy is now claiming that the US market will likely see the Spark in 2011. The Chevy Spark will enter the US and fill a role in the Chevy lineup that is not currently filled with any model – the A-segment. Currently, Chevy’s smallest offering is the B-segment Chevy Aveo. Like most automakers in the US, Chevy’s reason for not offering an A-segment vehicle in the recent past was likely due to the fact that prior to recent market changes, t
  11. Lutz chimes in on the Chevy Beat In the wake of the Chevy Beat news that started pounding the wires before the 4th of July weekend, the Wall Street Journal reached out to Bob Lutz for some commentary on the topic. Lutz, in an email to the Journal, said, "We always thought we'd do it at some point, but now it obviously enjoys a much higher priority." Based on what the Journal says, this loosely translates to "the 2012 timeframe." Unfortunately for GM, this is a car that its U.S. operation needs approximately yesterday. It would behoove the brain trust in the RenCen to stop debating this and s
  12. GM to Speed Decision on Mini Car for U.S. General Motors Corp. said it is giving a higher priority to deciding whether it will bring the next-generation Chevrolet Beat mini car -- a vehicle it sells overseas -- to the U.S. market in the 2012 timeframe. Such a move would increase the stakes on GM's bet the U.S. market is undergoing historic change. The Chevrolet Beat finished first in online voting by 1.8 million people world-wide on three General Motors mini-car concepts. GM is conducting major surgery on the product plans it had set for the next decade, scrambling to react to falling
  13. GM may bring minicar to U.S. Sharp market turn has automaker thinking of taking its lineup to smaller extremes. General Motors Corp. is reviewing its product range following radical shifts in demand in the U.S. auto market and may even bring a minicar to the United States that was originally designed for customers in Asia and Latin America. GM showed a concept version of the Chevrolet Beat, an 11 1/2 -foot, two-door hatchback, at the New York auto show last year. Designed at GM's South Korean facilities, the Beat is smaller than the Chevrolet Aveo subcompact, which was also designed in S
  14. Made-in-Korea Chevys for GM Also making a debut next year will be a new mini based on the Beat, one of three concept cars GM unveiled at the New York Auto Show last year. GM Daewoo is developing a subcompact platform to replace the Chevrolet Aveo and the Corsa of Adam Opel, GM's European unit. The new Aveo and its variants, coming in 2010 to the U.S., Asia, and other parts of the world, are expected to lead their segment in fuel savings. The compact marks a new beginning for GM, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in September. It will also be the first product that truly represents the
